About
Team SCE – Year 3 brings a full roster of both new and returning men and women to the competitive racing season
In 2008, a group of female cyclists organized Pittsburgh’s first women’s-only developmental bicycling racing team, geared for novice and intermediate racers. Our season was a complete success, as measured by participation, learning new riding and racing skills and improving fitness through a full season of group rides, skills workshops, charity and competitive racing.
Last year we expanded our roster, and continued our dedication to giving women the opportunity to compete and train in the lifelong sport of cycling without the burden of performance expectations. Our women’s team really gelled, and learned how to ride together In addition, in 2009 we expanded our team to include a men’s team as well! They had success, and looked towards 2010.
In 2010, we return as a strong team of racers and friends. We welcome new sponsors and are grateful for the continued support of our returning, loyal sponsors. There is a sense that this team is really learning to work together well, and there is definitely the sense that it will be another fabulous season for Team SCE .

Hi,
I’m new to the area and I’m interested in learning more about your cycling club! How often do you meet, how far, and what skill level?
Thank you!
Erin
Hi Erin,
We are mainly Cat 4 women, with one Cat 2 (Barb = awesome), and Cat 2,3,4 men. We do rides and are pretty active cycling in and around the ‘Burgh on the weekends (even in winter). Do you ride?
