Stacie and Dustin race their first cyclocross race!

So Coach Suzanne and Chris Mayhew have created a monster, and her name is Stacie Truszkowski.
On Saturday, September 27, after whetting her appetite as a regular at Mayhew’s PCCoD ‘Cross clinic and practice, Stacie took it to the races at Month of Mud. We were really excited to hear that while the bumps and bruises of the ‘cross race, the enthusiasm is long-lasting, and it looks like Rachel now has a “racing buddy” for her cyclocross races!!!
Rachel and Stacie raced extremely well on a rainy, cool, muddy Sunday. Stacie took the barriers and the muddy turns with energy, and ended up placing 3rd in her first ‘cross race ever, just behind Rachel in the women’s division! We’re so excited for Stacie, going for it and racing in a new sport! Awesome! 
Rachel continues to utterly embrace cyclocross. Indeed, she’s got some mad skills this year, sprinting fast out of the start, and handling tricky, slippery turns with ease!
Finally, Dustin raced his first cyclocross race on his mountain bike! With very little arm-twisting, he joined Ben Stephens and Darin Shriver in the men’s races. Dustin did an awesome job, and finished despite his mechanical (broken chain) meaning he had a bit more running than normal in the race! Way to go Dustin, and way to finish!
