ACA Tuesday Night at the Races July 15th Report
It was great to see how our chat with Chris Mayhew changed our racing dynamic this week. The Steel City ladies this week were Stacie, Carol, Donna, Kate and Rachel. The race started off with the usual pack hanging out for a couple of laps.
Then Kate lead out an attack at the 6th lap. As a bystander who had some idea of what was going on, it was amusing to see the reaction. At first, no one reacted. Surely, one by one, Whitney, Gray, Sharon started to chase her down. Exactly the strategy and well done Kate!
The next attack was made by Christa but she eventually made it back to the pack. Rachel lead out the next attack and hammered it for a good distance until she was caught. Ten laps to go and Whitney and Gray made a breakaway. Sharon tried to catch them. Then Rachel tried to catch them.
Eventually a group of Christa, Sharon, Rachel chased the breakaway followed by a group with Kate, Amy, Chrissie, etc. and a second group with Carol, Stacie and Donna. Fab race with lots of suprises! Great tactics learned and practiced by all.
